I have wondered what grooves it could come with using https://sonic-pi.net/

I spent a couple of Summers in Yorktown Heights and even had lunch with Beniot a couple of times.

To have the second largest super computer down the hall, an electron tunneling microscope, and beauty of the Hudson Valley seems like a bygone era. The innovation, patents, and persona were not enough to move the needle vs Silicon Valley.

The fact that tiny homes are answer for teachers in some areas and not paying them more. Can the teacher take it with them when they get burnt out.

This is the same answer to solve homelessness in some regions. The Arizona parents probably still going to give these teachers hell everyday.

Yeah, wasn't it Sheldon Cooper who discovered that?

One robot interviews another. Who will pass the Turing Test? Lex has access like no other. Such a great interviewer.

I'm wondering if he's somehow going to get Putin to sit down and talk. If anyone could, it seems to be Lex Fridman.

Zelensky seems more likely.

Wouldn't surprise me if he had God on his podcast one day. I understand why people go on JRE, it's a huge platform. What's surprising is the quality of guests Fridman gets on his podcast, even when the podcast was relatively small. Who is this guy?

It's not surprising once you watch

I think he was at MIT working on AI stuff? So lots of connections from there.

same top commment on reddit, youtube and hacker-news - internet is pathetic

It’s almost as if humans think similar things n unique thoughts really aren’t as unique. Hmmmm

haha.. my disappointment was more around why there is no meaningful discussion in any of the forums - did all anyone get from a 2 hour long interview with one of the brightest minds and most successful person of our times, is that he looks and acts like a robot ? Just because he has a billion dollars it is considered cool to bash his physical features and get upvoted.

Perfect for Halloween. Bring on the War of the Worlds.

But, it wasn't built to scale like WhatsApp.

Did anyone else really want the author to tie it into Lucene? Great story, nonetheless.

You can upgrade instantly on AWS, it doesn't take weeks. A lot of problems with AWS Elasticsearch Service are caused by corporations trying to squeeze a dollar out of a dime.

T2 and T3s with no Master Nodes, let alone three, leads to a lot of problems.

When everything lives in MMAP'd memory and you are nickel and dime'n it with 4GB and one CPU. You're going to have a bad day.

Yeah that was for sure not the case for 3 m5.large master nodes and several r4.2xlarge nodes.

The update was instant, what wasn't instant was the wait for the update. IDK if it was the maintenance window (which was set up for a weekend) or some bug, but we DID end up waiting weeks until it randomly updated.
