This is the kind of site that what is was looking for. Thank you.

Hail Eris Discordia!

This is really great. Is there any other AI similar to this one? Maybe one that generates AI illustrations for the cards...?

I tried to make full cards, text and cart art and card structure, all in the same model but it didn't work:

This person trained a nice cart art model: https://twitter.com/mkturkcan/status/1121228356899561472

Lastly just an amusing MTG card mashup:

I've also released an interface for a Reddit-based GPT-2 API: https://minimaxir.com/apps/gpt2-reddit/

> Putin ran away to the north pole while the ice was melting. then a huge car crashed and one person died. The other person then was injured while in the car. How long did it take for the ice to melt?

Pretty awesome

There is this project that used an RNN to generate cards' text:

https://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/magic-fundamentals/custo...

I think towards the end of the thread the initiator of the thread and some of the people in the impromptu community that formed around him started discussing how to generate illustrations and even did it to some extent.

That project turned into RoboRosewater (https://twitter.com/RoboRosewater), which has unfortunately been defunct for several years.

Ah, thanks. I didn't remember whether RoboRosewater was this, or one of the HMM-based projects.

As a LoadingReadyRun (and Desert Bus) fan, I was waiting to see if RoboRosewater came up.

I'm not sure it's quite fair, as RoboRosewater is funnier when it's garbled. Some of its cards have been… memorable :)

Sweet. Is there a way to test this?

The thing with this suggestion is that ATM Instagram is trying to fix how people are getting addicted to the Instagram popularity contest and instant feedback from the likes. Recently said that is testing the possibility to hide the like count. This suggestion IMO is another kind of feature for that popularity contest to be on the Famous side of the app.

Interesting to see IG running tests on seemingly counterintuitive features like that. The addiction and instant gratification is what generates their profits, after all. That's why I also believe the feature I envisioned wouldn't match their business interests - they basically want your friends' content to be mixed with all the other content, including paid posts.. But "ethical design" is becoming a big topic, so maybe we will see changes like this.

The Simpsons did it again: https://imgur.com/a/oGSkSgN

What a way to look at things. I agree with you. Also, that makes me think that there's even the term "evangelist" used in the tech talks...

The central definition of magic at use here is that an act is magical to the extent that control is removed from causation. Something went my way, but I didn't directly do anything in order to make it happen, and there's no rational way to ascertain how. It's as if I waved my hands and my will just manifested.

The key is that behind every act of magic is a hidden jungle of complexity that the magical practitioner must master. A wizard masters arcane correspondences, which largely involve study of magical law, which is a rational domain divorced from human intention. If you mumble the words right and have just the right slice of frog lips, then your fireball goes boom. Or your code has to pass the syntax checker before it can get on with semantic evaluation.

A priest masters the domain of human emotion and feeling, learning how to harness these things to earn mastery over divine power. If enough people believe a thing to be true, the truth manifests, called by a higher power into physical expression in the world. Or your startup manages to find funding because YC gave you their stamp of orthodox approval.

You can't dispel magic because that means that there's no longer any complicated domain that we fail to understand but will pay dearly for a guide through it. Any time you have that, the emergent property of people willing to front-load time and effort for later riches and the dramatic flair for making it all look easy will manifest.

... and there's also the Placebo Effect.

Related to this; is not that the world is that bad (even tho it really is in bad shape), the thing is that the massive hyper-load of information is only growing and know we instantly know more about the shit that is happening worldwide when decades ago it would take even days for you to know about the war on the other side of the globe.

The issue with social media and mental health is that the topic is just being researched. Millennials and Z's are the consumers in which that technology is being tested and we don't really know all the effects and damages that this new thing is causing on people. We sure know that it is pretty addictive and causes some damages to people who use social media mostly passive and binge on it.

Another damage that Social Media does is that now most peoples attention span is quite short, really short actually, and it doesn't help for the workflow. Add the depression(FOMO?) caused from the "comparison is the thief of joy" produced by Social Media and you have a really bad mix that will make you fill like shit on the regular basis.

LOL. Even this comment reflects part of the generation. Probably you are writing this from a first world country. The selfish gene makes people blind.

I am writing from a first world country but the news source cited(Bloomberg) is from a 1st world country too, so...

The article makes the point that first world gen-z’s and millenials are less satisfied than those in the developing world.

Third world countries have been improving economically at a rapid pace. Look up "the elephant curve" for more info.

Savage. I support this. I relate with your attitude too. That kind of thinking sure have given me more than a roof and a warm meal.
