For me, it'll be around the 80/20 rule. Meaning that, 20% of my working time will most likely end up being useful to 80% of my work.

Good luck to her! And I've always seen as Scandinavia as a leader in this area

Watching it now! Thanks

I see it more as computer programming being a trade just like anything else http://online.wsj.com/articles/computer-programming-is-a-tra... I agree with you but at the same time I think that at the end of the day a lot of these will end up being a market-driven rather than a creator-driven decision. Some kids will take up coding because of the pay, others because of the passion. Some will be passionate about coding but will end up doing other things for pay, such as nursing. Personally when I have children of my own I would teach them coding but I am not going to continuously barrage them into being software programmers because I'm not in charge of their lives.

There is an exodus of women in other fields beyond science except for sectors/industries where a majority is female. I think that if you are a minority then issues like these are more noticeable.

403 Forbidden! Uh oh.

On another note though, I was thinking that this could easily translate (no pun intended) to endangered languages

Gotta love 80s nostalgia

In health care there is a LOT going on and it could really push your limits in terms of your technical skills - especially within hospital health care and global health / global health policy arena. It also requires you to partner up with a health care professional which makes for an interesting viewpoint beyond SF tech :)

I agree. I sense the same whenever I come across every day articles which has a Western European and/or North American focus only
