Sat in that same course. Nice to see Bremen people here

:D Great! What are you up to nowadays?

It’s a German company and “flix” is local slang for quick

local to where? there is "fix" and "flink" which both mean quick, so it could be a portmanteau.

Yes please

it's not hardware and doesn't exactly what you'd like, but have a look at MIT's Junkyard Jumbotron: http://jumbotron.media.mit.edu

Essentially a bit of software to add other devices (ipads, phones etc.) as virtual screens

Or simply flushing out the <head> of a html document before the body is generated so the browser can start pre-fetching resources. That's the main use case that motivated Rails to implement streaming.

I've been using hogan.js to compile mustache templates to JavaScript functions on the server-side and write them to a js file that is then served to the browser:

  Templates={}
  Templates['templatename']=function(){/*compiled template*/}
They can then be referenced quite easily in your backbone render methods.

AOL wasnt sold to Time Warner, it was the other way around (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Warner#2000)

I guess the problem for a lot of people is, sometimes the samwers clone the execution too. In some cases even down to typos in the HTML source

html and css source is not execution. Getting distribution, partnerships, sales, etc. right is execution, especially since they don't clone tech-intensive companies (or at least not the tech-intensive parts)
