Employers not requiring a college degree if the job doesn't require the education would affect the demand side. De-escalating the snob factor would be a good start too.

What is the value of a college degree trending to anyway as AI takes away most of the premium of knowledge? If it's knowing how to wield LLMs to get your point across to people, using them for your homework is exactly what your education is about.

Degrees like marketing, sports management, hospitality management, and so on are ripe for the LLM world.

Actual college for thinkers to think and learn will have many fewer students than today.

Generally speaking, a for-profit concern uses this moment to raise prices to what the market will bear. Or is that too old-school?

The Garden of Eden story is an apocryphal fable. But it sort of has a relevant twang to it.

Geoffrey Hinton will not have his liver pecked out every day like Prometheus does.

Are you sure? In some mythologies, the basilisk is notably birdlike, I believe.

God doesn't have the army he has.

LLM generation services will eventually subtly manufacture consent for pro-consumption and shopping-oriented answers that possibly steer users towards specific products, if not overtly generate ads in-band, and participate in overt and covert sponsorships and exclusivity deals. They largely already have the over-confident hallucinated bullshit working, it's just a matter of monetizing it for platform benefit.

If Sam disperses his power, we can believe him. So long as he's just concentrating wealth and power, he's just another tech bro.

I simply make the observation that the 40-hour workweek took a bunch of violence to enable. As have other forms of progress that we take for granted. Luigi Mangione is a hero to many. It's not bad that the most powerful need to consider negative outcomes in their lives. Decry violence as one, sure, but if there are none other, psychopaths have no check on them. It'd be good if maybe there were others available, eh?

Ineffectual molotov cocktails are just a cry for help.

Didn't OpenAI fret-brag about this a while back too?

Only the leaders get to place the bets, not the minions.

Seriously, this is pro forma, not serious. Serious would take the form of investigation and prosecution. "We're not thieves, see?"
