I haven't had any issues with my 1st gen Threadripper for about a year now. I'm running Unraid with QEMU from that box and couldn't be happier with performance and reliability whilst running 2-5 VMs at once along with 20+ Docker containers. No issues with Windows 10 and *nix VMs; I haven't been brave enough to attempt a hackintosh yet though.
