They could afford to make this a bit thicker and more rounded. At this size, its ability to fit snugly into your palm (no pun intended) is more important than any perceived benefit of thinness. I personally believe such "egg-shaped" devices will become the dominant hand-held form factor, with tablets as supplementary devices.

I'm eyeing Unihertz Jelly 2. It has soap form factor with 2000mAh battery, but sadly it has Mediatek SoC.

The first one was not great, the display specifically. Maybe that changed? I'd wait for a review on that.

That Android does not work well with a device that small should remains as an issue, but at least the gesture controls it has now could help a bit.

There is a preproduction unit review and it looks promising: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxUDmGHl7Eo

Looks a lot better :) The hardcoded buttons at the bottom are a pity though.

That looks great, but this early review suggestS they skimped on the battery again:

If so, that’s too bad. I’d like one as my daily driver, but it sounds like it won’t cut it. I wonder if it could be underclocked or something.

Why can’t they make it even thicker?

What the is the drawback of a Mediatek SoC?

poor security & quality. it's ok for doing hw compartmentalization (throwaway/burner) but they die like flies.

How are you going to carry something thick in your pocket? It's going to have pretty strong forces applied to it if that pocket bends.
