Uber can make money but it won't be pretty, some steps in order to achieve profitability:

#1 Get out of all expensive metro areas(corporate offices) and embrace a full remote workforce.(sublease commercial buildings where applicable)

#2 Raise rideshare fees, reduce driver income.

#3 Retreat from un-profitable regions for ride-hailing, ie. moving out of rural markets.

#4 Reduce engineering workforce that isn't focused on running the business.

#5 Get out of the food delivery business, the margins are too small for the engineering/marketing effort.
