I am in the same spot as you are. I enjoy channels like Great Scott, Carl Bugeja, ElectroBoom and EEVblog. They make it working with electronics seem quite easy.

Planning to get some GPIO headers for my raspberry Pi, breadboards and led lights to just get started.
