Ask HN: How do I remove Githubs “For You (beta)” tab?
1 point by 0des on May 22, 2022 | hide | past | favorite | 3 comments
Title says it. I'm not interested in this aspect of github, and can't find where to disable it.

I was a one time contributor to a project which made me a "collaborator", and now I have new feed items when they fork a repository.

When I login to github I just want to see my repositories or profile, I'm not interested in whatever this is.

EDIT: After browsing the product feedback forums, it is apparent that this issue won't be addressed and is unlikely to be reverted. I'll be cancelling my account and moving back to Sourcehut.

Ublock origin should be able to hide it. That's what I do with all those stupid "intercom" fake chat popups that are all over the place

That does nothing to prevent my events from being reported to others. All I want to see when I login is my profile or my repos. The github dashboard is less useful to me than what it is trying to be.

Maybe something like https://violentmonkey.github.io/?
