Go popularity peaked in 2017, and has since declined and now seems flatlined (tiobe.com)

And yet Go is #10 at this time, up from #13 a year ago.

The title of this post is obviously misleading. The chart shown indicates the % change from year to year, and indicates a positive trend, with a big % change in 2017. It does not show a decline.


This is Go's popularity vs all other languages (% share).

The chart order changed because languages just above Go declined (relinquished share to the general market), not because Go gained market share.
