ISPs routinely block customers who distribute spam and malware or violate AUP policies about hate speech, and this isn’t new. In 2002, Hurricane Electric’s AUP prohibited “use of Hurricane’s network to harass or threaten (in the legal sense of those terms) any other person,” and “advocacy of violence against any specific person or class of people is prohibited” was added six years ago in 2017.
At the end of the day, I’m not terribly surprised that this website falls under the same umbrella. For trans people, getting targeted by this website is a lot like getting targeted by spammers or malware: your home address starts getting hate mail, your friends and loved ones start receiving death threats, your employer starts getting unsubstantiated phone calls asking why they hired a pedophile, etc. In Liz’s case, this site still distributes her driver’s license and SSN (“minecraft number”), which aren’t available online elsewhere.
Null, the admin of the site, outright said he was ok with users posting stolen financial information, such as Social Security Numbers and Credit card numbers. Source: https://archive.is/0fOcS . There are other examples of private financial information being posted on the site.
