Fun fact: I've had the honour of lighting the gas lamps in that cinema.

As a visitor - I was involved in a photoshoot there. I also used to go a lot as a customer, with some memorable, smoky, all-night triple-bills like the first 3 Alien films. It's a wonderful little cinema.


Back in the late 70's, we had some economic problems in the UK, which inter alia led to power cuts. When our house was converted from town gas to natural gas, my father was careful to retain and convert a gas light in the kitchen, which as far as I know is still operational. I'm not sure that there are many others still connected to the mains.


Used to go there as a student, I saw Drawing Restraint 9 on me own at the back, amazing place.
