Quill's an extremely well-known JavaScript rich text editing control, not an "app". Were you confused by the example at the top of the landing page? Your friend might not have heard of it, but I'd be more surprised if Microsoft didn't have significant projects using it because it's so well-established. And having large adopters of an open-source library featured on the landing page is not unusual.

The project claims to be "trusted" by one of the largest tech companies in the US. Asking for a definition of "trusted" is extremely reasonable, and calling it "accusatory posturing" is not only inaccurate (the comment itself reads pretty neutrally), but also somewhat emotionally manipulative.
