"80 to 90 per cent as effective as minoxidil"
And minoxidil's performance is already pretty low.

Given this study: https://www.jaad.org/article/S0190-9622(02)00124-X/fulltext in 48 weeks you get 18 new hairs per cm^2

So this sugar gives you 18*0.9 = 16.2 new hairs

That's still a 1620% increase for some, and potentially you can use more of the compound since it's safer.

Minoxidil is also highly toxic and fatal for cats. So some cat owners such as myself might appreciate an alternative.

Promotes angiogenesis = makes tumor growth easier (but at least they'll be visible until the hair grows in)

Sounds similar to the efficacy of topical caffeine. https://www.adaderm.com/caffeine-and-its-impact-on-hair-loss

Should I start rubbing coffee on my bald head?

This isn't some random thing, it's been available under the brand alpecin.com/ for probably a decade. They even sponsor a Tour de France team.

let us know how it goes, if you do.... asking for a friend /s

Misleading [dupe]

Lots of discussion: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=41042877

Junk article. It was only tested on mice.

Are there bald mice ?

Shut up and take my money!

"What makes this discovery particularly exciting is its potential to offer a safer, more accessible alternative to existing treatments. Minoxidil, while effective, can cause side effects such as scalp irritation and is not suitable for everyone.

In contrast, 2dDR is a naturally occurring substance in our bodies, which could mean fewer side effects and broader applicability."

in mice
