I remember so desperately wanting a 3DFX card and not being able to afford one (I was 13).

So the next best thing I could do was create a fake boot up image that just flashed up showing that the PC had a 3DFX card and their logo.

It made me happy



I saved like 14 months to buy a cd-rw drive. It was a nice Sony, I think 12x/4x. I paid like $400-some dollars for it around 1998 or 1999.

My computer couldn't keep the buffer filled unless I ceased all other activity, killed backgrounded programs, etc. I made a lot of coasters.
