Since switching from Codex to Claude Code I was always annoyed that they would not give you details how many tokens a chat / session consumed. This would've made it so much easier to assert whether buying extra credits via the API is worth it or not / predict what the rough cost would be. I've then just tried it out and a single prompt with the latest Opus + thinking consumed $ 0.80 - no wonder they are reducing the limits.

This was the xmas rug-pull. Remember [0], even worse if they stopped it and reduced it further.

Same issue here. It started a few days before the 2x promotion, I noticed a reduction. same reduction as active at the moment..

I figured that was obvious - users consuming vastly more tokens than they're paying for. When people talked about how much cheaper the subscriptions were compared to doing the same thing via the PAYG API that should have been a massive red flag that the subscriptions were inevitably headed to enshittifiation.
