It's never as simple as just ASK. There are lot of concerns and things you need to think through you need to go over before you can just diplomatically raise the issue.

While this is true you've got to ask yourself if you are not overly fearful considering the current market situation.
At what demand/supply ratio for developers would you be willing to ask - 5:1? 10:1? never?

Honestly, when you can pick the phone and have competing offers within days, it can be as simple as you want to make it.
