Pets vs. cattle is about customization vs. automatic setup; I don't understand how it's relevant to whether the containers have no SSH or identical SSH.


Pets vs. cattle was the last battle. Now there's immutable cattle vs. mutable cattle; Docker is trying to promote immutable infrastructure and microservices and eliminating ssh is one aspect of that.


Because the main point of ssh is to log in and change stuff. You do that with pets not cattle.

If you are logging in to debug, you can log into the host.
