I'm a total foodie, and I simply cannot read this book. I'm not sure if I need pretty pictures, or salacious kitchen anecdotes, or what, but I read a
lot
of food books and I've failed to get past pg. 30 on this one several times.

Me too. This book has taken me a long time to get through for some reason, but it's good, and I'm almost done :)
